Meet DaNya Brown:
Orange High School Class of 2026, Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary School Class of 2019
DaNya Brown is a senior at Orange High School in the class of 2026. She is a varsity cheerleader and also participates in Minority Achievers Program and the CCP. On Thursday January 15, she returned to Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary School where she met with some of her previous teachers and spoke with some current students. After high school, she plans to attend a 4 year college and major in nursing.

We asked DaNya some questions about her time at Efland-Cheeks Global and here are her responses:
Was there a teacher or staff member who really inspired you or believed in you?
- The two teachers who inspired me and believed in me the most were Ms.Petrizzi and Ms.Baker. They showed me what it means to be a leader and to always believe in yourself.
Which field trip or special event still sticks in your mind?
- One field trip that sticks in my mind is our field trip to the Outer Banks, or our overnight field trip in the cabins.
Was there a subject you loved back then that shaped what you enjoy now?
- The one subject that I loved then most was math, and today, math is still my favorite subject because it always involves a challenge.
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice for elementary school, what would it be?
- Don’t take this time for granted because it goes by faster than you’d realize. Keep believing in yourself because all of the hard work will pay off.
We are so proud of you DaNya and can’t wait to see what amazing things you accomplish! #EaglesSOAR
