Meet Aye Aye Zaw
Orange High School Class of 2026, Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary School Class of 2019
Aye Aye Zaw is a senior at Orange High School in the class of 2026. He is currently prepping for his deployment in the Marines. On Friday March 6, he returned to Efland-Cheeks Global Elementary School where he met with some of his previous teachers and toured our beautifully renovated school. After high school, he plans to enlist in the Marines and serve our country.
We asked Aye Aye some questions about his time at Efland-Cheeks Global and here are his responses:
Was there a teacher or staff member who really inspired you or believed in you?
- A teacher or teachers that have really inspired me are Mr. Dieso and Mrs. Hines. They both really taught me to do my best with 110% effort and enjoy learning while making sure to have fun but be serious about my work
Which field trip or special event still sticks in your mind?
- Honestly I will never forget the tug of war Competitions we had and even ending up facing the teachers. It was honestly the best day throughout my time at ECGE.
Was there a subject you loved back then that shaped what you enjoy now?
- I really enjoyed English which really got me into reading and poetry which are both small hobbies of mine now.
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice for elementary school, what would it be?
- I honestly would’ve told myself if you wanna get further ahead ask for help from the teachers since back then I relied on myself being independent growing up and always wanted to learn more but didn’t feel confident enough to ask my teachers.
